The Joy of Meditation is the Best Food
¡@Why could meditation (Dhyana or Samadhi in Sanskrit) produce energy? The actual situation is that one will effuse luminosity when he enters meditation.Luminosity has characters of energy and wisdom. One's flesh body will become peace, delight and health when he obtains energy by meditation. Under such circumstance the flesh body aspires after food no more. Why is that? One should notice that we eat because we need to take in energy. Once you already have sufficient energy by meditation directly, it is not necessary to take in energy by food. What flesh body we had, what response we made about food. To explain one step ahead, all external phenomenon could bring forward relations with us only because our heart and mind consciousness called and induced them in the first. As long as our heart and mind consciousness are not pure enough the Karma-power will still have strong influences on us. Therefore, it forces us to select food and eat. For example, someone had decided to go on a diet for the reason of beauty or health but finally he just could not make it because of strong appetite and empty feeling arose. The ideal of beauty and health were totally forgotten by him. Think about that if these ideals would work why so many people had cudgeled their brains trying to lose weight all around the world. About eating, it is perceived that there is no business of will! ¡@Appetite is a business of causation for one's previous lives. As a man sows, so shall he reap. For instance, if you ever made someone else hunger to death and if you had ordered a commutation of your serious offense, you will crazy about food when the Karma-retribution worked in your present life. You just could not stop eating. You will be fond of eating in huge volume and cannot stand some kinds of harmful or improper foods. For instance, someone eager to have a nice figure but keeps eating confectionery such as chocolate and cake. Whenever sweets appear, he will lose control right away. Not until he ate extravagantly, could he stop himself? In most cases, after the flesh body was well fed with food, indescribable regret and discouragement followed up. He kept asking himself: Why should I do that? He regretted the stupid things that already had done. Discouraged about he could do nothing to his mannerism. ¡@Buddha-Dharma is great and a subject of universal. Even problem like loss weight, there are complete and lucid solutions for it in Buddha-Dharma. If someone really wants to have a nice figure or concern about his health, the key point is not in the way you dealing with food. To effect radical reform, you should take care of the Karma related problems. Keeping in your mind, it is necessary for you first, confess the cr ime sincerely, then cultivate yourself earnestly, finally try your best to do all good deeds. For your mannerism, you should neither regret nor discourage. Even sometimes you might still lose control in eating, please remember that any negative emotion does no good. At this moment, the only thing you have to do is having a good look on your mannerism and takes full responsibility. Feel calm and fearless to accept the situation. Whe n things change with the passage of time, confess to your Karma, then make efforts and be patient on cultivating yourself. One day, all of a sudden, you will find that you are no more cling and grasp on eating food and leave the perplexed situation completely. ¡@There is a Chinese saying: Unintentional sows sometimes bring people unexpected harvest. Causation makes the final decision how things shall end up. Any intentional act, if its direction is wrong, you are flogging a dead horse actually. Although an unintentional sow, if it corresponds to causation and it solves the related Karma problems, absolutely you will have a golden harvest.
