第99問:妄念對靜坐有何影響?

知見:

 有些人在靜坐中覺得自己坐的不錯,

 有些人在靜坐中覺得自己坐的很差,

 有些人在靜坐中覺得自己坐的普通。

 以上這些想法都是妄念,有了高下之分就是分別意識,這些都是障礙修行的心念。

方法:

 一般人覺得自己修的不錯,就會起細微的驕慢,長期下來,驕慢就會變成人格特質的一部分。

 覺得自己修的很差的人,就不斷自我打擊,暗示自己不行,久而久之,就畏難、不修了。

 修行的障礙來自妄念,所以不宜帶著妄念靜坐,只有安住正念靜坐,才是真正的靜坐,這種靜坐是沒有品質好壞的差別;被妄念干擾時,不要在意;被妄念打斷正念,更不要在意,直接回到正念即可。

結論:

 安住在正念的比例愈高,也就是妄念最少的狀態,就是最有效的靜坐。

 

Question 98

What effects will be brought up to the meditation by misleading thinking?

 

Ideal

During meditation, some feel good, some feel bad, and some feel so so.

All the above thinking are misleading thinking. Any judgements of high or low on affairs are the separating conscious. All of these thinking are the obstacle to the cultivation.

Method

Generally when one thinks he has some achievement in cultivation, arrogance will be brought up at the time. After a long period of time, arrogance will then become a part of one's character.

On the country, if one thinks he has no achievement in cultivation, one will keep giving himself negative image implying he is not good at cultivation. After a period of time, this one will draw back and decide not to cultivate.

All the obstacles to the cultivation come from the misleading thinking. Therefore, we should not have any misleading thinking during meditation. Only when we stay at right thinking can we have the right meditation. Under right meditation, there is no judgement of good quality of meditation or bad quality of meditation. While we are disturbed by misleading thinking during meditation, we don't need to care about it. And, while our right thinking are interrupted by the misleading thinking during meditation, don't even care about it, what we have to do is just go back to the right thinking directly.

Conclusion:

The more the right thinking, the less the misleading thinking. This kind of status is the most effective meditation.
